ISSUES WE FIGHT FOR

VISA AMNESTY & PROTECTION

Workplace laws in Australia should apply equally to all workers employed here. By law, visa holders and migrant workers have the same workplace entitlements and protections as all other employees in Australia.

Migrant workers deserve equal rights and protections.

United Workers Union members come from all walks of life. Our members from migrant backgrounds contribute to the workforce that keeps our economy running.

Employers engaging foreign workers must ensure compliance with both Australian workplace laws and immigration laws.

UWU actively advocates for protections to combat worker exploitation and advance Visa amnesty that allows migrant workers to report issues without fear of visa cancellation.

WHAT WE’RE FIGHTING FOR

As a union member, I won things worth more than money, like respect. Even though I now have work rights, I’m campaigning for visa amnesty.
