Union Win: Aged Care worker wins pay rise and $2,500 backpay.
An Aged Care member contacted United Workers Union, raising concerns that they had been under-classified by their employer for years.
After investigating and validating the claim the member, together with United Workers Union, decided to fight for the correct pay level.
After providing evidence that the employee was misclassified, the company agreed to adjust the member’s level, winning the worker an immediate pay rise and 2.5 years of backpay worth $2500!
It goes to show that when members stand up, supported by our mighty union, we can fight exploitation and achieve the recognition we deserve! It pays to be a member of your union.
