United Workers Union would like to advise that an investigation into allegations against an officer of the Union, first reported in November 2024, has concluded. No adverse findings were made against any officer or employee of the Union, or against the Union, and none of the allegations made by the complainant were substantiated.

The investigation was conducted by former Fair Work Commission Senior Deputy President, Jennifer Acton*. The investigation was initially requested by the complainant, who subsequently declined to participate. While the Union is disappointed that the complainant elected not to participate, it acknowledges the comprehensive review of all evidence by Ms Acton and it accepts the findings of the investigation report unreservedly.

The Union is committed to providing safe, supportive workplaces, and addressing issues when they arise in a fair and considered manner.

We remain focused on advocating on behalf of members and taking action to win big, long-lasting gains.

*Ms Acton served as a presidential-level member of the Fair Work Commission from 1992-2017.

Our website is hosted on 100% carbon neutral servers in Naarm (Melbourne). The United Workers Union is committed to creating the secure & future-proof jobs workers and their communities need as our country continues to transition to a net zero economy.

UWU acknowledges that we meet and work on the unceded lands of First Nations peoples. We wish to pay respect to their Elders — past and present — and acknowledge the important role all First Nations peoples continue to play within Australia and in our union.
